Arielle and Thomas is playing a new game lately, it is a battle between batman (Arielle) and the evil character monster handen (Thomas’ hand). Arielle tries hard to form a batman mask with her hands in order to scare off monster handen, and Thomas tries to bite Arielle with his evil hand. So unfortunate that I couldn’t share the videos because Arielle was in her dipper. But I assure you if you were there to see those two screaming at each other, imagining they were dangerous beasts, you would be tearing up the same as me.

The family joy is one of few things that keep me cheerful lately since it hasn’t been well with the other categories in life. Especially work, I grew more and more irritated with it, and after the 5000 SEK event in which I was ripped off of my whole year bonus, I have given up all my hope in it.

Even so, I am telling myself to temprorially ignore the unpleasant actions that were taken against me and remain positive, look at the bright sites, keep doing my best until I find another place to settle. I mean, there is no need to be angry or depressed or make your last period sufferiable when you know you have to hang around here a while longer. And it seems working very well with injecting tranquilizer to my emotion.

I became this happy and energetic person at work, I no longer take customer’s rude comments personal because I simply do not care. They are angry at the company’s thievery actions, not me. I will do anything my boss tells me to like a robot with a standard “yes sir! no sir!”, I try to be this fake but formal & polite worker that the boss cannot pick any flaws out me. I await for my right timing and opportunities to strike!

Just wait and see, batman is not scared of monster banden!

Geez, how long it has been since I published the last log! Work and baby has taken a lot out of me, naaah, actually only work has taken a lot out of me, baby was actually my energy buzzer during the past half year.

Niu Niu has grown a lot, hard to believe that she is already 3, a big girl now! She is very expressive already with what she wants, what she has done at dagis, and her weird logic and stories, and one thing worth mentioning, I have been living in Sweden now for over 4 years, and she has only been living in this world for 3 years, despite these facts, her Swedish skills has exceeded mine a long long time ago. Very often I have to put down all my pride and go to Thomas and ask for translation of some words and comments.

Oh, not mention that Niu Niu has been correcting my grammars and pronunciation, ok, let’s put down the pride, still, she shouldn’t have gone to day care and tell everyone that mamma doesn’t speak Swedish. Hey little one, for your information, mamma DOES know some Swedish, just maybe not as good as yours!

A super pampered little princess and her genius work!

Reading is one of her favorite activities, especially bajsboken and totte book, these are two of her favorites. Pretty good taste in literature, isn’t it? Haahaa. Some of her bajsboken disgust me so much I can’t even finish a single page, but she will just laugh and laugh and read all over again.

So the new dagis (daycare) started yesterday! As well as my Japanese courses. Therefore Thomas had to take Niu Niu there for the introduction tour, he stayed there about 2 hours and came home right after my first lesson ended. What he told me about the new dagis was like a horror movie, it made me want to cancel it on the spot, I don’t want to go to the details about what he told me, but anyway, he said it has bad facilities, bad food, bad everything.

For a moment I even got depressed about queuing too long for the one that we really wanted. The truth is, today I went there to check out by myself, it WASN’T as bad as he portrayed. I mean, yes, 99% of the kids are foreigners, so what, I am also a foreigner. The teachers might have a strong accent in Swedish but at least they are all friendly and nice. Speaking of the food, he has never tried out the food at our  previous dagis. I would say it is about the same. Of course you can’t compare with what we eat at home, Thomas works for a food company, we get even better stuff than the 5 star hotels and restaurants. The dagis is already doing a great job with what they got from the government. Today they cooked some stir fried rice with meat and Chinese cabbage, a bowl of mixed beans, strawberry jam, meat sauce, and a smörgås after lunch. That is totally ok food.

No matter what, we have to think positive before we get the dagis we wanted, that is about another half year of so in queu, so people, cheer up now.

I want to share some wonderful discoveries I found in Niu Niu. She already can count a few numbers, this morning she came to me with a piece of wood that shaped as number 8, I was still half sleeping, and she held the 8 in front of me and shouted cheerfully: ÅTTA! I was so so so blew away by her intelligence. It was not some sort of coincidence that she just said the right number. I tested her a few times also. When I count to number 3, she will then follow me and say: fyra. Besides 3 and 4, 8 and 9, the rest numbers she still can’t count in the right orders, but she can recognize them.

Niu Niu also loves to dance, and she has invented a few of her own dance moves, the head shaking, and duck walking moves crack me up everytime! Oh, I never thought having a baby could be such a wonderful blessing. These days I am so brightened up by her, everyday I wake up with a big smile because Niu Niu is always right next to me face waiting for me to open my eyes, and when I do, she will greet me ‘hallo hallo’ and a big smile on her face.

Thomas and I always looked at Niu Niu and can’t figure out how could we get such a wonderful child. It almost felt like we don’t deserve to have such a happy and smart kid. She has suffered so much from our selfishness, like last year for example, we dragged her to travel in China in such cold winter weathers and then Italy in the hottiest season. We owe you a lot Niu Niu!

Mama will try to make it up to you, you have my words.

Niu Niu’s yellow scarf is from 70s, originally belongs to her Ba Ba Thomas

I dug out some pictures of Arielle playing outside with the snow from last week, and thought I should share it with family and friends. She is soon 18-month old, both me and Thomas are having so much fun with her! Every night before we go to sleep, we will exchange notes about our new discoveries on the little princess.

Tonight for example, we were shocked to find out that she could already sing 2 lyrics from Bä Bä Vita Lamn. (Bä bä vita lamn……Ja ja kara barn……) For the rest part, she would just mumble along while we sing it. I have to say, adults shouldn’t underestimate the abilities of a 1.5-year-old, their learning skills are so amazing that you won’t believe it.

But anyway, Niu Niu didn’t like the snow. We were out and I brought a lot of digging and shaping tools, she didn’t want to touch them. And when I put her down, she didn’t want to walk much either because her feet were buried in the snow, she didn’t know what to do. We were out maybe for 10 minutes,  then she said: Krama. (hug) Then I know it is time to go home. Our short adventure ended there.

It is getting really cold in Sweden now, Thomas said he even saw ice on his way to work. And this morning, the temperature dropped to minus 2. Oh, to remind you, it is still October!

So, considering that Niu Niu doesn’t have any proper winter jacket, I went to Lindex yesterday and bought the best and most expensive winter overall for her. Unfortunately it is in black, but I was thinking she probably will be outdoors a lot and play with sand and snow later on, so it is good that I choose a color that doesn’t get dirty so easily.

This morning when I drove Niu Niu to dagis (daycare), the first thing her care taker said when she saw us was: Ohhhhhhh, so the Miss pink finally switched to black. Some other workers also started to laugh and call her Miss black when they heard our conversation. It was that moment that I realized how much pink stuff I have bought her without realizing it all along. Funny part is, before she was born, I was swearing to Tuotuo so much that I will definitely not dress my daughter pink because it is a shallow color. Haahaa, how dramatically things change!

Anyway, Niu Niu looks good in pink, and I guess I should start to test more colors on her so she doesn’t look so boring, and….sooooo PINK!

Here are a few picture of her checking out her room for the first time when it was completed. It looked messy because we were still trying to unpack and setting things up. The fake kitchen was from a c0-worker of Tuotuo’s, and he is now also our neighbor.

My little princess is not so impressed though.

This red soffa is a second hand retro sofa, we broke one leg of it during moving, so I just took off all the legs and put in baby room. Niu Niu loved that idea, she always climbs up and down the red sofa, now she can do anything she wants there without freaking us out.
